A Travelling OT – On Mission to “Walk, Paper, Scissors” the world
As an Occupational Therapist my mission continues to evolve and expand to meet current needs across all life spans. Through Servants of Christ, International I have been empowered by God’s Grace to work with women of all ages, families faced with natural disasters, and children by taking on the global role of empowering caretakers to enable self-regulation through the lens of Trauma Informed Care. The acronym “STOP” not only stands for the work of this mission: Sustainability, Train the Trainer, and Occupational Placemaking but also imparts the message that we can stop and make a difference in His Kingdom, one person at a time!
The mission of On a mission to “walk, paper, scissors the world” is to restore all God’s people to a life free from occupational barriers through the lens of Trauma Informed Care.
My vision to raise funds is to come alongside other Christian Missions working natural disasters both in the US and abroad. To stand in the gap providing hands to rebuild, medical assistance, or trauma rehabilitation with an emphasis of spreading God’s Love thru my testimony.
What does your generous gift provide?
– Sustainability buckets for a family of four: three months supply of DIY (“do it yourself”) Laundry/bath soap, deodorant, and hand sanitizer; dish soap and containers.
– Craft items needed for learning new occupations or trauma rehabilitation.
– Gas and food while in the mission field.
What has God put on my heart to ask for?
A Toy Hauler Trailer! Talk about sustainability in building God’s Kingdom. This Blessing would allow me to be on the ground within days of a natural disaster verses waiting for weeks or months for housing. In turn, this would provide trauma rehabilitation within a few days which assists with a person’s fight or flight response from becoming chronic and eventually leading to anxiety, depression, and lifelong chronic illness.
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit-fruit that will last and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”
(John 15:16 – NIV)
Thank you for partnering with me, my fellow missionaries, and Servants of Christ International,
