Woven Women’s Ministry
Whitney Scarborough remembers in college that one day God would call her as a public speaker and teacher of His Word.
“I thought, ‘This is something that probably won’t happen until I’m old—like mid-thirties.’”
About a year ago, Whitney had a strong desire to develop a women’s ministry in her town and was approaching the “ripe old age” of 35.
“We moved to Texas less than a year before and I was on an earnest search for a Bible study or women’s small group to plug into but kept coming up dry. In our town of roughly 4,600, I saw the need for deeper relationships and desire to study God’s Word.
“I met with my pastor and began to connect with other women who shared a similar desire. I had the idea to work in conjunction with the church to grow such a ministry, and asked the Lord to confirm that calling.
“When my pastor asked if I would consider being a women’s ministry missionary to our town of La Grange and the surrounding area, I told him it was an answer as opposed to a question. God lined up my gifts to meet a great need!
“For this reason I have teamed up with Servants of Christ International and began this ministry: Woven: Equipping women to study the Word and cultivate meaningful relationships.
“I am thrilled to be serving in this capacity—and invite you to prayerfully consider partnering with me..”
