Jan Waldron moved to Northern Mexico in 2006, following God’s call on her life to support church-backed education projects as an English teacher. She works with the Mexican organization Centro de Fe, Esperanza y Amor. Seeing the need for more Christian schools, she joined forces with her Mexican pastors, American mission teams and local missionaries to help build, open and sustain a new middle school in an impoverished community near her home.
El Buho coffee shop, in the nearby tourist destination of El Potrero Chico, opened in 2010 to help fund these efforts through coffee and merchandise sales. Jan oversees the coffee shop ministry, serving international rock climbers with love and grace, while also serving the local community.
