Rogers, Russell – EQUIP

Our Story

Pastor Russell Rogers has a heart for the Lord and a love for Missions and Ministry.  He is a gifted speaker and trainer, with extensive experience in ministry, serving as a Children’s Pastor, a Youth Pastor, a Worship Pastor, a Church Planter, and a Lead Pastor with more than three decades in full time ministry in Texas.  He is the founding (and current) pastor of Trinity Life Church in Garland, Texas. Dr. Rogers is also a Professor at Lucent University.  He is a natural motivator and has the heart and gift of an evangelist.  Therefore, he enjoys the opportunity to travel and share his ministry through evangelism as his schedule allows.  Additionally, He is an accomplished Pastoral Counselor, and has provided Christian Counseling services to countless numbers of people over the years.

One of his greatest passions is having the opportunity to EQUIP leaders for ministry.  He has traveled widely, as far west as the Philippines and as far east as Pakistan- meeting with pastors, conducting conferences to both encourage and equip men and women to better serve the Lord as pastors, teachers, and church leaders of any kind.  As those who have sat under his teaching will attest, Dr. Rogers’ style and approach is unique and unforgettable.  Many have attested to the fact that he leaves an impact on the life of the listener that lasts a lifetime.  As a result, as a presenter, Dr. Rogers is in very high demand, at times receiving more invitations than his schedule and funding will allow. This is why ministry funding partners are vitally important to the work Dr. Rogers is doing around the world.

It can easily be said that “Dr. Rogers practices what he preaches.”  Aside from his ministry commitments, Dr. Rogers volunteered his time and served on the Texas State Adoption Review Committee at the appointment of former Governor Rick Perry from 2010-2012.  He also served as Vice-Chairman on a State Committee for Child Protective Services from 2008-2020.  The care and protection of children in crisis and troubled family situations has long been of concern to the Rogers.  They served for over ten years as a foster/adoptive family in Texas. During this season, the Rogers cared for more than 20 children in their home through foster care and adopted 3 of these children providing them a forever family.  Dr. Rogers also served several years as an Ambassador for Texas Foster Care traveling and speaking in churches both in Texas and other states concerning the critical need for Christian families to serve as foster care providers.  Therefore, Dr. Rogers has a vast working knowledge of family and social issues impacting our society.

His educational resume includes a bachelor’s degree from Liberty University, a master’s degree from Dallas Baptist University, and a Ph.D. in Pastoral Ministry & Leadership from Atlantic Coast Theological Seminary.

Personally, Dr. Rogers is a fun loving and energetic individual, who enthusiastically motivates others to passionately pursue Christ.  He has been married to his wife, Shelly Rogers, since 1988 and they have five children (three by adoption and two by birth).  He and Shelly reside in the country about 20 miles east of Dallas, Texas.  As Russell has often stated, “Life at the Roger’s home is busy, bustling, beautiful and blessed, but never boring.”
